“Why bring your shop to this town?”
It was an honest question from a customer who had just fallen in love with the space. She had admired every rack, display, and brushstroke—then looked at me, curious and sincere and said those very words. “So why bring your shop to this town?”
And I get it. I do hear this often.
I didn’t open Styled Reverie in Edgerton originally.
I didn’t even imagine a boutique at all when this whole thing began.
But every step—garage paint nights, rented booths, a teaching studio, my first shop—led me closer to what I was building all along.
And when the opportunity came to move Styled Reverie here, closer to home, I knew it wasn’t just a location change.
It was a heart decision.
Because while this might not be where I started, it’s absolutely where I’m meant to be.
I’ve Always Collected Big, Wild Dreams
When I was a kid, I wanted to be everything:
-
a fashion designer,
-
a race-car driver,
-
a horse jockey,
-
and a veterinarian.
I even chased the fashion dream for a while—taking classes and imagining a life on the runway. But the industry felt too cutthroat, too polished, and not quite me. I wanted creativity, not competition. So I shifted toward interior design and marketing, chasing the creative life in a way that felt more grounded.
From Garage Paint to Boutique Dreams
My journey to boutique ownership didn’t begin with a business plan or a storefront.
It started in my garage.
I began painting furniture and selling it to friends and neighbors. That led to renting a booth space, then opening a small workshop across the booth I had where I could teach others to paint and create, too.
Eventually, I opened my first shop under the name Rubbish Restyled—a reflection of giving discarded things new life.
And then… the move to Edgerton. A place that felt like home. A space that allowed me to grow into the next chapter much closer to home.
Styled Reverie: A New Name, A Bigger Vision
As the shop evolved, so did I. The name Rubbish Restyled no longer told the full story.
I wasn't just teaching creativity, I was helping women rediscover their creativity, their confidence, and their color through creativity and the addition of fashion and self love.
So I rebranded to Styled Reverie—a name that reflects the dreamier, more expansive version of what the shop had become.
This Was Never Just a Store
Styled Reverie isn’t about trends. It’s about transformation.
It’s…
-
A boutique filled with joyful, intentional style.
-
A studio where people reconnect with their creativity.
-
A soft place to land when life feels loud.
And it fits perfectly in this small town.
Because while Edgerton wasn’t the first stop, it’s become the right one.
Small Towns Deserve Beautiful Things, Too
I didn’t choose this town for what it already had.
I chose it for what I knew it could hold.
And Styled Reverie adds a little something extra—a dash of magic, a burst of color, a space where people feel seen.
From Rubbish to Reverie
No, I didn’t become a fashion designer or a race car driver.
But I did build something that lets me live all the best parts of those dreams—curating beauty, going full speed ahead, and helping people find their own spark.
This shop grew from scraps and paint cans to a boutique full of heart.
From Rubbish Restyled to Styled Reverie.
From surviving… to thriving.
From somewhere else… to here.
The Heart of It All
So when someone asks, “Why Edgerton?”—my answer is simple:
Because this is where the dream feels like home.
Not where I started—but exactly where I’m meant to be. Because in my heart this town is all heart and I've never felt more welcome and at home.
